Team Final and Qualification for Individual All-around Competition and Apparatus Final

All NOCs qualified by team may participate with a team of three to five gymnasts. A sixth gymnast is not allowed.

Each team can have a maximum of four gymnasts competing in each apparatus (with notice given of the gymnast who is out of competition in that apparatus). The three highest scores in each apparatus will be added up to determine the team’s total score.

This competition determines the team champions and the qualification for individual all-around finals and apparatus finals.

Gymnasts who compete in all the apparatus (six for men and four for women) are eligible to qualify for the individual all-around final.

In case of a tie in points for any position in the individual all-around qualification to qualify for the individual all-around final, the ranking will be determined by the following criteria:

  1. The gymnast with the greater number of highest final apparatus scores obtained in the qualification (i.e. add the total of the five highest final apparatus scores for men and the total of the three highest final apparatus scores for women. If a tie persists, add the total of the four highest apparatus final scores for men and the total of the two highest apparatus final scores for women, etc.).
  2. The highest sum of the E-scores on all apparatus (i.e. add the E-scores on all six apparatus—four for women—).
  3. The highest sum of the D-scores on all apparatus (i.e. add the D-scores on all six apparatus—four for women—).

If there is still a tie, it will not be broken.

Two different vaults are necessary to qualify for the vault finals (according to FIG 2017-2020 Code of Points). The qualifying score is based on the average of the two scores

For the team and individual all-around results, only the first vault will count.

For the apparatus final, the eight gymnasts with the highest scores on each apparatus will qualify; maximum two per country. In case of a tie in the qualification, the FIG tie-breaking system will be applied.

Individual All-around Competition Finals

This competition will determine the individual all-around champions. Twentyfour gymnasts from the individual qualification competition will take part in this competition, with a maximum of two finalist per country. The competition consists of six exercises for men and four exercises for women, according to FIG regulations.

The results from the qualification competition are not carried forward to the individual all-around final (i.e. scores will start from zero). In case of a tie at any place in the qualification or in the Finals, the FIG tie-breaking system will be applied.

Apparatus Finals

This competition comprises the finals on each apparatus to determine the medal winners.

On each apparatus, the top eight gymnasts with the highest total scores on each apparatus in the qualification competition will execute an exercise. A maximum of two gymnasts per country on each apparatus will be allowed. Gymnasts must also follow FIG regulations for warm-up.

The results of the qualification competition are not carried forward to apparatus finals (i.e. scores will start from zero). The results of the finals will determine the champion for each apparatus.

In the event of a tie at any place, in the qualification or in the Finals, the FIG tie-breaking system will be applied.
