With Tokyo 2020 games behind us, many avid gymnastic fans are finding themselves in a bout of post-Olympic depression. Fans are usually left with a void of international events immediately following an Olympic year. This year is different.

The U.S. Championships are almost here, the final stepping stone to the Olympic Trials. U.S. Championships, also referred to as nationals, showcases the best of the best in U.S. gymnastics, and will be an exciting weekend of today’s biggest names throwing their best routines.

Simone Biles stood at the top of the vault runway. She leaned in and charged forward, just like she’s done thousands of times before. She launched herself off the table and she nearly stuck — Yurchenko double pike. It helped so quickly and casually that it was almost easy to miss it.

The GK U.S. Classic is the kickoff event for the 2021 summer Olympic season. The event set for Saturday, May 22, is the first in the home stretch for the top female gymnasts leading up to the trials. The meet also serves as the final opportunity for female gymnasts to qualify for the 2021 U.S. Gymnastics Championships, held June 3-6 in Fort Worth, Texas.

INDIANAPOLIS, May 13, 2021 – Many of the nation’s top women’s artistic gymnasts are set to face off May 21-22 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. The 2021 GK U.S. Classic features junior and senior competitions and will be headlined by numerous Olympic medalists and World champions. The event also serves as the final opportunity for female gymnasts to qualify to the 2021 U.S. Gymnastics Championships, which will be held June 3-6 in Fort Worth, Texas. The 2021 GK Hopes Championships will be held in conjunction with the GK U.S. Classic and features rising stars from the women’s artistic discipline. The annual event marks the end of the 2021 Hopes season.

INDIANAPOLIS, March 13, 2021 – USA Gymnastics today announced the full 2021 U.S. Women’s Junior and Senior National Team rosters following the conclusion of the first in-person National Team camp of the year. Five junior and four senior athletes automatically qualified to the National Team through their all-around performances at the 2021 Winter Cup in February. The additional gymnasts were named to the team by the Athlete Selection Committee who considered in-camp performance in addition to submitted petitions.

The sport of gymnastics is filled with legendary, gravity-defining women, but here are ten gymnasts we celebrate for Women's History Month who have made their mark for their contributions to the sport and the world. 

The 2021 Winter Cup takes place in Indianapolis, Indiana from February 26th-28th and is expanding this year. Previously only a men’s artistic competition, the Winter Cup now includes women’s artistic gymnastics as well, with both a junior and senior competition in each.

Though 2020 had fewer gymnastics meets than years past, there were still a ton of memorable moments this year. Here’s a look back at the top gym moments of 2020 in no particular order -  the good, the bad, and the...dare we say...unprecedented.

Looking back on the greatest all-around gymnasts from the past decade, and what to expect from 2020.

Simone Biles won the 2018 women's all-around title at the 2018 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Doha, Qatar, despite mistakes on three events, hurting her execution scores. What helped her finish the meet on top even with two falls was her difficulty score, which leads the entire women's all-around field by nearly three points.

Although she fell on vault and beam and went out-of-bounds on floor, Biles was still triumphant and came out on top at the 2018 World Championships women's all-around final in Doha, Qatar, ahead of Japan's Mai Murakami, and U.S. teammate Morgan Hurd.

A less-than-perfect performance from Team USA didn't stop them from winning its sixth consecutive team title at the 2018 World Gymnastics Championships in Doha, Qatar. Russia and China had mistakes of their own but were still able to win the silver and bronze medals, respectively. By finishing in the top three at team finals, USA, Russia, and China have qualified full teams to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
