There’s nothing like being in an arena when Simone Biles's name is announced. Saving her Double Pike Yurchenko for the Olympics, Biles pulled out her Cheng and Amanar for the night. Biles’ 60.565 across four rotations Friday evening at The Dome in St. Louis has her poised to claim one of two automatic spots – awarded to the top-two all-around finishers – for the U.S. women’s team at the upcoming Tokyo Olympics. Rolling into the 2021 Olympic Trials, the only thing we know for sure is that Simone Biles, barring an alien invasion, is going to come in first place and lead the team. Besides that, anything could happen! What we do know is that the top two all-arounders at trials are automatically placed on the team, so everyone will be fighting for that second spot. FORT WORTH, Texas, June 6, 2021 – Simone Biles of Spring, Texas/World Champions Centre claimed another spot in the record books Sunday at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, notching a seventh U.S. senior women’s all-around title – the most in history. Biles (119.650) ran away from the competition on Day 2, stretching a 2.2-point lead to nearly five full points. Sunisa Lee of St. Paul, Minn./Midwest Gymnastics Center finished second with a 114.950, and Biles’ World Champions Centre teammate Jordan Chiles (114.450) rounded out the top three.
