As the Tokyo 2020 Olympics come to an end, we get to experience the worst part: realizing it’s over. Luckily, we can reminisce on all the best moments of the games for years to come - and this year’s Olympics was exciting from start to finish, with unexpected twists and turns every second. Here are just a few of our favorite moments!

TOKYO, August 3, 2021 – On the final day of the artistic gymnastics competition at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, Simone Biles of Spring, Texas, secured the bronze medal on balance beam. Sunisa Lee of St. Paul, Minn., Brody Malone of Belfast, Tenn., and Sam Mikulak of Newport Coast, Calif., were also in action.

TOKYO, August 1, 2021 – MyKayla Skinner of Gilbert, Ariz., vaulted her way to the silver medal on the first night of individual event finals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, while Sunisa Lee of St. Paul, Minn., took bronze on uneven bars.

TOKYO, July 27, 2021 – Despite unprecedented adversity, a gritty team effort catapulted the U.S. women’s team to a second-place finish at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games Tuesday at the Ariake Gymnastics Centre. After veteran Olympic champion Simone Biles of Spring, Texas, withdrew from the competition following the first rotation, the remaining team members – Jordan Chiles of Vancouver, Wash., Sunisa Lee of St. Paul, Minn., and Grace McCallum of Isanti, Minn. – banded together to secure the silver medal for the U.S.

The five-time Olympic medalist finished first in the two-day competition overall, with a score of 118.098. Biles actually finished second on day two to Suni Lee with a 57.533, but again, won the overall meet with 118.098.

There’s nothing like being in an arena when Simone Biles's name is announced. Saving her Double Pike Yurchenko for the Olympics, Biles pulled out her Cheng and Amanar for the night. The vault began with the Cheng with a ridiculously far landing and ended with a stratospheric Amanar, scoring 15.66. She finished with a 60.565, the highest score since World's qualification 2018!

ST. LOUIS, June 25, 2021 – Seven-time national champion Simone Biles of Spring, Texas/World Champions Centre will take a nearly three-point lead into Day 2 of the ongoing U.S. Olympic Team Trials. Biles’ 60.565 across four rotations Friday evening at The Dome in St. Louis has her poised to claim one of two automatic spots – awarded to the top-two all-around finishers – for the U.S. women’s team at the upcoming Tokyo Olympics. Sunisa Lee of St. Paul, Minn./Midwest Gymnastics Center (57.666) and Biles’ WCC teammate Jordan Chiles of Vancouver, Wash. (57.132) sit second and third at the midway point. MyKayla Skinner of Gilbert, Ariz./Desert Lights Gymnastics (56.598) and Grace McCallum of Isanti, Minn./Twin City Twisters (56.498) rounded out the top five.

In the lead-up to the Tokyo Olympics, Facebook Watch is giving fans all over the world an inside look at the life of Simone Biles as she prepares for her second Games in a docuseries. Simone vs Herself premiered Tuesday, June 15. Episode one, "Can I Do It Again?" provided insight into the decorated gymnast's life shortly before and during quarantine.

Rolling into the 2021 Olympic Trials, the only thing we know for sure is that Simone Biles, barring an alien invasion, is going to come in first place and lead the team. Besides that, anything could happen! What we do know is that the top two all-arounders at trials are automatically placed on the team, so everyone will be fighting for that second spot. Land below second place, and it’s up to Tom Forster and the selection committee who they choose to put onto the coveted four-person Olympic team, who is going as alternates, and who misses the team completely.

FORT WORTH, Texas, June 6, 2021 – Simone Biles of Spring, Texas/World Champions Centre claimed another spot in the record books Sunday at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, notching a seventh U.S. senior women’s all-around title – the most in history. Biles (119.650) ran away from the competition on Day 2, stretching a 2.2-point lead to nearly five full points. Sunisa Lee of St. Paul, Minn./Midwest Gymnastics Center finished second with a 114.950, and Biles’ World Champions Centre teammate Jordan Chiles (114.450) rounded out the top three. Biles also claimed the top spots on vault (31.025), balance beam (29.250) and floor exercise (29.600). Lee notched the national title on uneven bars with a 30.200.
