The 2021 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships will be held in Kitakyushu, Japan, from October 18–24, 2021. The Men's world-championship trials are September 14-19 at the Colorado Springs Olympic and Paralympic Training Center.

As the Tokyo 2020 Olympics come to an end, we get to experience the worst part: realizing it’s over. Luckily, we can reminisce on all the best moments of the games for years to come - and this year’s Olympics was exciting from start to finish, with unexpected twists and turns every second. Here are just a few of our favorite moments!

TOKYO, August 3, 2021 – On the final day of the artistic gymnastics competition at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, Simone Biles of Spring, Texas, secured the bronze medal on balance beam. Sunisa Lee of St. Paul, Minn., Brody Malone of Belfast, Tenn., and Sam Mikulak of Newport Coast, Calif., were also in action.

TOKYO, July 28, 2021 – U.S. gymnasts Brody Malone of Belfast, Tenn., and Sam Mikulak of Newport Coast, Calif., were 10th and 12th, respectively in the men’s all-around competition at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games Wednesday at Ariake Gymnastics Centre. Mikulak, who is competing in his third Olympics, posted an 83.164, finishing just behind Malone who notched an 84.465 across all six apparatus.

With an audience of 13,379 fans, Day two was an electrifying night of excitement and glory. Here are the athletes that punch their ticket to Tokyo.

ST. LOUIS, June 26, 2021 – USA Gymnastics has named five athletes to the U.S. Olympic team for men’s artistic gymnastics following the conclusion of the men’s competition at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials held June 24 and 26 at The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis.

With a score of 85.25 points, Brody Malone declared his performance at Championships last month wasn’t a fluke. Malone earned or tied top scores on two of the six apparatus on Thursday, leading the group after Day 1 on the men’s competition at the U.S. Olympic gymnastics trials. From the last two NCAA seasons where he was the all-around winner, to the U.S. Championships where he also won the all-around, Malone has made the case that he’s the real deal.

After Men’s podium training Wednesday morning, Allan Bower said his training has been good. He is getting used to the equipment and the lighting. He can’t be happier as to how his training is going.

FORT WORTH, Texas, June 6, 2021 – Brody Malone of Belfast, Tenn./Stanford University continued to add to his collection of 2021 hardware Saturday at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. Malone, who collected NCAA team and all-around championships in April, captured the U.S. senior men’s all-around title with a 170.700 across two days of competition and earned a second gold medal on vault. World medalists Yul Moldauer of Arvada, Colo./5280 Gymnastics (167.950) and Sam Mikulak of Newport Coast, Calif./U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center (167.400) finished second and third.

Two-time Olympian Sam Mikulak admits he’s having a case of senioritis. He’s afflicted by senioritis, not because of a decline in his gymnastic, but because he’s finding himself becoming sentimental.

The final hurdle before U.S. Olympic Trials is here: the 2021 Men's U.S. Gymnastics Championships takes place in Fort Worth, Texas from June 3rd-6th with both a senior and junior competition, and it is going to be one to watch.

Last year, when COVID-19 postponed the 2020 Olympic Games, Sam Mikulak was worried about preparing for the games properly and returning to where he was in early 2020. But then he flipped his mindset: Mikulak could either worry about getting back to where he was gymnastic-wise, or he can reinvent his gymnastics to be better than he was a year ago. He chose the latter.

INDIANAPOLIS, March 3, 2021 – USA Gymnastics today announced the addition of eight gymnasts to the U.S. Men’s National Team. These individuals were named to the team by the Men’s Program Committee who considered results from last weekend’s Winter Cup in addition to submitted petitions. They join the ten gymnasts who automatically qualified to the team through their performances at Winter Cup. All 18 gymnasts have been named to the National Team through the 2021 U.S. Championships in June.

Though 2020 had fewer gymnastics meets than years past, there were still a ton of memorable moments this year. Here’s a look back at the top gym moments of 2020 in no particular order -  the good, the bad, and the...dare we say...unprecedented. 

After 12 hit routines, Sam Mikulak won his sixth national championship with a two-day all-around score of 174.150, in addition to a whopping four of six possible event titles. Mikulak won floor exercise, pommel horse, parallel bars, and high bar.
