    NCAA gymnastics gained more recognition in the past years in large part thanks to some memorable college routines going viral. The first routine to really go viral was LSU Gymnast  Lloimincia Hall's floor routine in 2014, but arguably the queen of the viral routine is UCLA’s Katelyn Ohashi, whose moonwalking helped make her floor routines from both 2018 and 2019 spread like wildfire- her 2019 routine currently has 161,708,668 views on the UCLA Athletics youtube page. Though the 2021 season was a unique one with less of an audience, it was no exception in producing viral routines.

    In less than a month, the UCLA women's gymnastics team will begin the 2020 season, and many of the gymnasts will be entering their first season without longtime head coach Valerie Kondos Field. The reigning Pac-12 champion UCLA Bruins will start 2020 in their home state at the California Grand Invitational & Collegiate Challenge.
  7. Oklahoma Caps Incredible Season With An NCAA Title

    In the inaugural Four on the Floor final of the NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championships, the Oklahoma Sooners won the team title and are back on top after scoring a huge 198.3375. The LSU Tigers had another runner-up finish and earned their highest NCAA Championship score with a 197.8250 ahead of last year's champion UCLA Bruins, who were in third with a 197.5375. The Denver Pioneers concluded their season with a fourth-place finish, their best ever final ranking in program history, with a 197.0000.
  8. UCLA, LSU, Oklahoma & Denver Advance To 2019 NCAA Finals

    After placing in the top two in their respective semifinals, UCLA, LSU, Oklahoma, and Denver have qualified to the first Four on the Floor NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championship final. In semifinal I, UCLA finished in first with a 197.6750, and LSU finished in second with a 197.5125. In semifinal II, Oklahoma won with a 197.8500 while Denver came in second with a 197.0375.

    Finishing in the top two in the final round of competition at the Ann Arbor NCAA women's gymnastics regional championship, reigning national champion UCLA and reigning Big Ten champion Michigan have qualified for nationals.

    After two sessions of competition Friday, Alabama, Michigan, UCLA, and Nebraska advanced to the final round of the NCAA regional in Ann Arbor by placing in the top two in their respective sessions. Alabama and Michigan finished 1-2 in the first session, while UCLA and Nebraska came out on top in the second session.

Her feisty, sassy routine has been in the first or second spot in the lineup in 11 of 13 meets. One of the highlights of her routine comes in her opening combination pass—a front handspring-front double full-punch front that lands precariously close to the edge of the floor.
