CALI, Colombia, December 4, 2021 – U.S. athletes claimed gold in men’s synchronized trampoline Saturday on the final day of the trampoline gymnastics competition at the 2021 Junior Pan American Games in Cali, Colombia. Elijah Vogel of Longmont, Colo./Elevated Trampoline Sports Academy added a silver in men’s individual trampoline, while Nayenne Pollini Ashenaffi of Reseda, Calif./Rhythmic Academy of Los Angeles and Sarah Mariotti of San Diego, Calif./Emerald City Academy of Rhythmic Gymnastics took silver and bronze, respectively, in the rhythmic gymnastics individual all-around. The U.S. rhythmic group also secured the bronze in the group all-around.

TOKYO, July 31, 2021 – World team silver medalist Aliaksei Shostak of Lafayette, La., took 13th in the Olympic men’s trampoline competition Saturday at Ariake Gymnastics Centre. Shostak’s first qualifying routine earned a 51.165 but his quest for a medal came to an end when he was unable to complete his second routine. He finished with a combined 82.150.

TOKYO, July 30, 2021 – World team silver medalist Nicole Ahsinger of Lafayette, La., matched the highest finish for U.S. athletes in Olympic women’s trampoline Friday at the Ariake Gymnastics Centre. Ahsinger posted a 54.350 in the event final to secure sixth place. Previously, Savannah Vinsant, who competed at the 2012 London Olympic Games, was the only U.S. women’s trampolinist to earn a spot in an Olympic final. Vinsant also finished 6th.

Nicole Ahsinger doesn’t have a lot on her list of pre-competition rituals. She doesn’t meditate. She doesn’t have a breathing technique. She doesn’t do any visualization.

Unlike many of his fellow competitors at last month’s USA Championships, Aliaksei Shostak, known as simply “Alexi,” didn’t have to worry about qualifying for the Tokyo Olympic Games. He’d already sealed his spot after finishing in the top 10 at the 2019 Trampoline and Tumbling World Championships, earning the lone spot for the American men in trampoline.

ST. LOUIS, June 26, 2021 - The 2021 USA Gymnastics Championships continued Saturday at The Dome at America's Center in St. Louis. Laura Zeng of Libertyville, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center swept the clubs and ribbon titles, posting a 25.450 in clubs and 20.850 in ribbon to close out the night. Evita Griskenas of Orland Park, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center finished second in clubs (23.350) and ribbon (20.100). In the junior division, Nayenne Pollini Ashenaffi of San Diego, Calif./Rhythmic Academy of Los Angeles topped the all-around competition and clubs field, and Milana Abayeva of Brooklyn, N.Y./Isadora took top honors in the ribbon competition.

INDIANAPOLIS, June 26, 2021 – USA Gymnastics has announced the 2021 Trampoline & Tumbling Junior National Teams rosters following the conclusion of the junior competition at the 2021 USA Gymnastics Championships. Members of the Junior National Teams are listed below alphabetically by discipline.

Laura Zeng of Libertyville, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center defended her senior rhythmic hoop title, while teammate Evita Griskenas of Orland Park, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center took the senior ball title. In the junior division, Nayenne Pollini Ashenaffi of San Diego, Calif./Rhythmic Academy of Los Angeles topped the hoop field, and Gemma Gow of Newton, Mass/Nely's School of Rhythmic Gymnastics took top honors in the ball competition.

While most kids his age were busy making forts and castles out of sofa cushions and other household furniture, five-year-old Ruben Padilla had a different purpose in mind. Padilla, who hopes to qualify for the trampoline competition at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, would practice his acrobatic moves on the couch, a chair, anything he could get his hands on.
