Week 8 of the gymnastics season featured the Big Fives meets for women's gymnastics teams in the Big Ten. Let’s check out the highlights from the weekend both gymnastically and what some programs have been up to behind the scenes. 

It was an electric weekend in Toledo as the Big Ten regular-season champion was crowned, career highs were set, and teams got to experience podium equipment, some for the first time this season.

Welcome to a really B1G week (pun intended)! The Big Ten's women's gymnastics teams are headed to Toledo this weekend for Elevate the Stage, where the regular-season conference champion will be crowned.

The Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association has gathered champion coaches and supporters to create the Collegiate Gymnastics Growth Initiative (CGGI). This initiative aims to educate administrators, donors, and alumni of various universities about the importance of sponsoring a new gymnastics program at all three divisions of collegiate sports. The group also works to energize the general public and gymnastics community about new gymnastics opportunities, trends, and ways to be involved with the sport and its collegiate programs.

Minnesota just wanted to be ranked in the top 20 this season. 

Hey guys! Happy Week 6 — we’re pretty much halfway through the season. We’re already getting a good look at teams making improvements and increasing scores! See the highlights of the Big Ten teams and their weekend action below.   

Week 5 in Big Ten gymnastics was exactly what we wanted — exciting. Every Big Ten team competed against a fellow league team, giving us five fantastic meets of B1G action. 

The Elevate the Stage competitions are really special and exciting series for numerous reasons. First, I’ll share a personal reason why, for me, these meets hold special memories and excitement. 

It’s time for another Big Ten recap! Week 3. Let’s do this. 

The 44th team in Michigan history began its season at home with a win against Texas Woman’s University and Washington and followed that up with a victory over Illinois on Saturday. As a recent graduate from this program, I feel very tied to this team and its current season. It is wonderful to be a part of a program and a group of women who make leaving so hard, another reason why my investment in this season hits closer to home than just gymnastics. It’s about watching my best friends succeed.

A new year means a new season. Gym season that is! As we’ve rung in the new year, teams all across the country have geared up for the 2020 competitive season. From the SEC to the Pac 12, you can expect to see each team bring their A-game—but today, we’re talking Big Ten.
