NBC Sports reported that Hernandez’s agent confirmed her plans.
At the 2016 Olympics in Rio, she took gold in the team event and silver on the balance beam.
Since the Games, Hernandez kept herself very busy. She won Dancing with the Stars, hosted American Ninja Warrior Junior, released two books (I Got This: To Gold And Beyond, She’s Got This), and starred in a new Peacock series called True Colors, Glamour online series Defying Gravity, and various other shows.
In 2019, she announced her comeback and plans to train for the 2020 Olympics. Hernandez now resides in Los Angeles where she trains and plans to pursue a career in acting.
This spring she will vie for a spot on the US Olympic Women’s gymnastics team.
