Metroplex Challenge - Club and NCAA

The highlight of our weekend schedule is the 2019 Metroplex Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas. This competition not only features top club teams from across the country, but also a spectacular NCAA session with No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 7 Denver, No. 15 Missouri and No. 21 Arkansas on podium! 

Oklahoma has led the NCAA rankings all three weeks of the 2019 season and reached the impressive 198 mark in its first meet out. The Sooners have three gymnasts in the top 10 AA rankings: Maggie Nichols at No. 1, Brenna Dowell at No. 5 and Anastasia Webb at No. 7. 

Denver has also had a strong start to its season, boosted by a strong bar lineup, which ranks No. 4 in the nation. SEC teams Missouri and Arkansas have been solid this year and will look to climb the rankings with a strong away score.

Parkettes Invitational

Our second club competition of the weekend is one of the oldest and most prestigious competitions around, hosted by esteemed club Parkettes. Historically, many elite gymnasts compete here, using this meet to make the season debut or to test out new routines and skills. Check out this year's roster here and view the meet schedule here. We will be live streaming all level 9 and 10/Open sessions on Friday and Saturday.

Michigan at Maryland

No. 8 Michigan heads to College Park to take on No. 32 Maryland. Michigan has proven extremely consistent in its first three meets, scoring 196.05, 196.025 and 195.975. Led by freshman standout Natalie Wojcik, the Wolverines' strongest events are vault and bars and they'll be looking to improve on beam and floor. The Terrapins have only competed twice, scoring a 193.85 at home then a 194.95 on the road. They'll be looking to break into the 195s, a very realistic goal given the talent on their team. Watch live on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET.

Rutgers at Iowa

No. 52 Rutgers takes on No. 40 Iowa on Saturday at 4 p.m. CT. Rutgers had a rocky start to its season in Cancun where it only posted a 189.8, but the Scarlet Knights quickly improved and scored a 193.175 the next weekend then a 194.325 at home last weekend. Rutgers shines on vault and floor and is led by all-arounders Michelle Amoresano and Belle Huang. With four meets down this season, Iowa will be at home for the second weekend in a row. Last weekend, the team scored a 194.35 and will look to push a 195 this weekend. The Hawkeyes have been particularly strong on beam this season where they rank No. 19.
