Olympic gold medalist Aly Raisman has come forward as the latest gymnast to reveal she was sexually abused by USA Gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar, as reported by Sports Illustrated. Following McKayla Maroney's #MeToo post, along with abuse allegations from more than 130 women, Raisman detailed her experience in an interview with 60 Minutes set to air Sunday night.

“I am angry,” she told 60 Minutes. “I just want to create change so [that young girls] never, ever have to go through this.”

Why are we looking at why didn't the girls speak up? Why not look at what about the culture? What did USA Gymnastics do, and Larry Nassar do, to manipulate these girls so much that they are so afraid to speak up?

Raisman said in the interview that following the 2016 Rio Olympics, she communicated with FBI investigators about Nassar.

Raisman's book, Fierce, releases next week on November 14, and it will shed more light on her experiences.

USA Gymnastics provided a statement responding to Raisman coming forward. The program noted the new policies which make "mandatory reporting" a requirement if there is suspected sexual abuse.

“USA Gymnastics is very sorry that any athlete has been harmed… we want to work with Aly and all interested athletes to keep athletes safe.”

Nassar is currently in jail in Michigan after pleading guilty to possession of child pornography and is awaiting trial for on several separate criminal sexual conduct charges — to which he has pleaded not guilty.
