Team Russia was crowned the champion at the 2014 Swiss Cup that was held this weekend in Zurich, Switzerland.  Daria Spiridonova and Nikita Ignatyev edged out the competition and won with a finale score of a 30.0. Coming in second was Ukraine’s Angelina Kysla and Oleg Verniaiev with a 29.725 and in third was Germany’s Elisabeth Seitz and Fabian Hambuchen

For this competition, gymnasts competed in mixed pairs. There were multiple rounds of competition including the pre-round, half-final, and final round. The two gymnasts in each pair performed on one event, back to back, then combined their scores for their team score. In the final round, the teams scores were wiped clean and whichever pair had the highest score from solely the final round won the competition.

Switzerland's Giulia Steingruber and Claudio Capelli made it to the final round but Steingruber suffered an injury on her final vault and the pair ended in fourth. Steingruber reportedly has a stress fracture and a ligament sprain.
